Anger

We live in angry times. We see anger expressed most every day: driving on the motorway, watching a drama on TV,   or hearing the news. Some of us grew up in an angry home, where conflict never resolved and it escalated to anger. Others of us heard anger from the pulpit each week.

Bible

In his second letter to Timothy, Paul wrote that “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16–17). Christians from the apostles until now have, like Paul, regarded Scripture as central to the life and growth of the church.

Bible Characters

Our world desperately needs models worth following. Authentic heroes. People of integrity whose lives inspire us to take God seriously, to follow His Word obediently, to pursue Christ passionately.

Christian Living

The Christian life sure is difficult sometimes, isn't it? God asks us to leave behind our selfishness and devote ourselves to Jesus Christ in the service of others. This journey has a clear beginning and an even clearer end, but its path is littered with dangerous obstructions and precarious curves. Thankfully, its destination provides lasting, eternal rewards. Chances are you have experienced the difficulty of losing your way on the journey. We've all been tempted to stray, to step away from the fundamentals of authentic Christian living toward the more immediate fulfillments we desire for ourselves. But God calls us to a life devoted to studying the Scriptures, to prayer, and most important, to knowing Christ Himself.

Christmas

The problem with an often-told story is trying to hear it the way it originally unfolded and affected people. The Christmas story is a prime example ... familiar to us and (yawn, ho-hum) ... predictable. But the events surrounding the birth of Jesus were anything but expected! So much so that most of the Jewish people who were eagerly waiting for their Messiah totally missed His arrival!

Church

God has ordained the unique, vibrant structure of the church community so that we may mature spiritually, love each other completely, and serve Him passionately within it.

Church History

On the last night of Jesus' life on earth, He established a principle that has endured in the life of the church from the first century to the present day—the world that persecuted Him would likewise persecute His followers (John 15:20). And so it has been; from that day until this, men and women of faith have suffered and given their lives for the cause of Jesus Christ. It is our history as a church, a history wrought with controversy, conflict, and persecution. But it is also a history of triumph, faith, and community.

Crisis

When crisis shakes you all the way to your foundation, you need to find a way to return to the truths you embraced before the crisis. Cling to our unchanging God, who offers the hope you need.

Death

The feelings of grief over the passing of a loved one can overwhelm us. But we must never forget that Jesus's love and comfort will never, ever leave us.
